The sets are mostly still with me as I have not displayed recent work and collections (and part collections) of previous years.

My themes range in varous subjects. The Universality of Humankind and the challenges  faced today surface.

Pictures are in varying sizes and can be framed.

Art perspective

From an art perspective, I enjoy looking at the beautiful structure of churches, and recognise the dedication and devotion with which they are built, and how this reflects in the terrain they grace. The steeples are Feng Shui positive and churches are a tribute to architecture.

Directing energies. Aggression should be kept in reserve as a tool and used for self-protection only. How often we waste this precious resource, perhaps in defending the ego.

The incredible comparisons

Appreciation of effort is one thing art teaches: most of all the effort involved in the mixing and applying of colour that sometimes fades the moment you look away, having to re-apply, and keep a steady stroke while catching the same glint in the colour teaches to know your medium (oil, turps, or mixer,) and to have sufficient quantity to complete the section.

Art Fairs

With Reference to the Johannesburg Art Fair currently being planned for opening on 4,5th April 2009, (Weekender Newspaper, Saturday, Sunday March 28th and 29th 2009) - I take inspiration - to suggest, stemming from  a recent visit to the Claremont Botanical Park Heritage Site, - to potential Sponsors and Art Professionals and Amateurs - to showcase their works under a banner of the previous Art in the Park theme that has been run quite successfully to the best of my knowledge in Gauteng ...

The first way to alleviate poverty is in the concept. If  something is not up to the standard of pristine-clean-and-hardly-green;  it does not necessarily have to mean...

Living

Posted by Patricia Heller on September 15, 2008 at 3:05 PM Comments comments (0)

Living well is hard to explain, it does not necessarily mean having more. It actually means integrity. Choosing that good company and companionship which will enable us to have ease of communication for the sake of our personal spirit growth in our home life means living well. Or so this is my thinking tonight.

I am wondering if any sunshine will not reach us if we do not have as many material advantages as our neighbours. Also, if we need shade, will the tree refuse ...
