Beautiful Proteas from the Cape, South Africa. Hardy blooms know as the South African Rose and the national flower. There are many varieties and the shrub often withstands a brush fire, and comes out blooming when all the other growth around has been turned to ashes.

Part of my painting journey is to do with a decision made to master the painting of most things natural and man made, which of course in itself is an impossibility, but I did get to paint quite a variety of subjects;  e.g..: glass, copper, cloth and fabric, mountains, rivers, seas, cars, boats, skies, buildings, people, etc., and room for  a lot more ~ an endless undertaking, especially any speciality such as people, then we have expressions and emotions, this all incorporating a skill, and then having to display meaning or neutrality; is quite an adventure. However, this one depicted below is semi abstract,  one of my favourites because iof its vibrancy

Impatience and splashes of sunset.

This theme is a serious attempt at mastering acrylics and the quick drying abilities compared to oils.

It was a great adventure and one which also wants to revive itself. I painted the monotone blue and then picked out the shapes, filling in with red and green.
